Detailed with batt insulation and air/vapour barriers with the highest attention to detail since these are sensitive areas that need to be especially as air-tight as possible. Alternately, spray foam can be used to create an unvented assembly here if desired and allowed by the district.
Rockwool or fibreglass insulations typically fill voids in exterior walls and are completed with meticulously detailed vapour-control layers and air-barriers. We are experts at achieving a “Grade 1 Energy Star Installs” which means the thermal layers are installed with very little voids, gaps, or unnecessary compression. Spray foam is sometimes used here as well.
Rigid insulation and/or batt insulations and air/vapour barriers are often used in combination to achieve a well-sealed exterior foundation without problems with condensation and wet wall assemblies common in the past. Spray foam can also be used here.
